Picture this… Its 58 degrees outside and the water temp is hovering 5 degrees below that, seems like a good time to go ride right? Well apparently to Brandon Lee it is. I just got a new Slingshot and a new skate, so I was easily talked into it. The plan was to pick me up at my house at Tech, drop Whatley off at the airport, and then me and the Lee brothers were to go shred some GRC and get a few pics for the site. ETA at my house, 9 AM.
Yeah right.
Pick me up at 9 turned into pick me up at 11:30, which I was not upset about at all. Drop Rhett off, pick up my camera, on the road. Apparently Brandon got us there really fast, I couldn’t tell you, my dog and me were napping in the back seat. On the way, Mr. Wes Bearden informed us that the pond was flooded pretty bad and would need some repair, but with Brandon and Wes running the show, when we arrived all Brett and me had to do was sit there and watch. A few minutes later and Brandon is ready to ride. Apparently the untold rule of the day was that full suits were not acceptable for pictures on this day, and something distinguishing had to be worn on your upper body. This translated into Brandon rocking his CRUNK!!! Jersey on his L/S spring suit, me rocking a snow jacket, and Brett going topless (surprise surprise right?). Brandon jumps off the dock and proceeds to fall on a surface 180. I guess he needed a nice jolt to get him pumped to ride. Got a few shots, tried to bonk a canoe, then its Brett’s turn. Brett and I decided it was way too cold to fall, so he and I decided the Oakley incline rail was going to be a sufficient rail to get pics on. Got some nice shots of Brett flexing on the rail and then it's my turn. The new Slingshot is nice, you should probably get one. Got a couple pictures and rode around a little, and coasted back onto shore, completely dry. Rocking the snow jacket while riding is very nice actually, quite warm. Some locals roll in, chit chat ensues. I wakeskate a little, fall, freeze, then Brandon decides he wants another run before we leave. He obviously saw how ridiculously sweet I looked in my jacket and decided he would rock his too. He also decided to rock the kink rail. Hard. Got some sweet pics.
